Judo disappeared about the time kung fu gained popularity. That's why I switched to karate. I hoped that when it became an olympic sport, it might come back. Mostly you find some mixed discipline schools that claim to 'teach' judo. A shame. It is a beautiful sport.

When I was a student of Okinawan Karate and Aiki-jutsu,(haven't been
training for a couple years now) I attended 2 martial arts "clinics",which
are classes that last a day and a half,and in one of those was a Judo
segment.I learned at least one simple,but handy and effective trick from
that segment,a fine art,and though I'm not aware of any Judo schools in
this area,if the opportunity came up I would certainly try it.
